STOCK SALE REPORTS
Messrs Dalgety and Ct>„ Ltd. Palmerston North, report having a small yarding of stock at their Hunterville sale on Tuesday, the 24th inst., which sold as below:—4 and 5-year ewes to b.f. rams, 26s 6d; medium b.f. lambs. 14s, fat bullocks, £7 10s: store cows 20s. CLEARING SALE. MESSRS. ABRAHAM AND WILLIAMS’ REPORT. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report, having held a highly satisfactory sale of dairy stock and implements on account of Mr. J. Peterana, Linton, on June 23. The cows were principally Shornhorns in fair condition, calving August and September. There was a good attendance and bidding was keen throughout the sale. We quote: Best cows, £6, £7 ss, £8 10s, £9, £los 5s to £lO 10s; medium COWS, I £3, £3 10s, £4 15s to £5; empty cows and late ealvertf, to £2 10s; horses, £3O to £4l; milking machine and separator £8 5. Implements and sundries sold well.
On June 24 we held a sale on account of Mr. J. C. Dench, Whakaronga. Owing to the boisterous weather the attendance was small and bidding dull. We quote:—Cows, £3, £3 10s, £4, £5, £5 ss, £5 12s 6d, £6 15s to £B.
On June 25 we held a clearing sale of dairy stock on account of Mr. T. Greer, Anderson’s Road, Linton. The cows were in exceptionally good conditions, showing a lot of quality. Calving dates were goven. We quote: Best cows, early calvers, £lO, £ll, £ll 10s, £l2, £l3. £l3 10s, £lss 10s to £l7; medium cows, £6, £6 10s, *£ 6 15s, £7, £B, £9 to £9 ss; later calvers, £3, £3 10s, £4 to £5; springing heifers, £5.
