Owing to Mr. C. Spillane meeting with an accident whilst refereeing last week he is unable to act in the Taihape match on Saturday, and Mr. R. P. London will be in charge of the game. As the Taihape team is leaving by train on Saturday night it was requested that the game start at 2 p.m. Arrangements have been made to start lame at 2.30 p.m., which will give the team plenty of time to change and motor through to Marton and catch the train. The curtain-raiser, Kaierau 3rd and Aramoho 3rd will start at 1.15 p.m. sharp. THE ASSOCIATION GAME FIXTURES. June 28. Final Shield Match, Y.M.C.A. v. Eastbrooke. July 19.—Possibles v. Probables. July 26.—Taranaki v. Wanganui, at Wanganui. August 2.—Chinese Students v. Wanganui, at Wanganui. The final for the Shield will take place on Saturday at Victoria Park, when Y.M.C.A. will play Eastbrooke. Both teams have played consistently throughout the season, and a keen struggle is sure to take place. A win or a draw will give Y.M.C.A. the shield, while Eastbrooke must win to gain the shield, one point only separating the two teams. It is doubtful whether the match set down for No. 2 ground will take place, as both teams have men on the sick list and may not - be able to get together teams. Saturday’s fixtures are as follows: Y-M.C.A. v. Eastbrooke, No. 1

ground, 3 p.m. Referee, Mr. Stuart. JUNIOR. Eastown v. St. John’s, No. 2 ground, 1.30 p.m. Y.M.C.A., a bye. The draw for the cup is as follows: Eastbrooke v. ’Shops, No. 1. Y.M.C.A. v. St. John’s, No. 2. Eastbrooke v. Y.M.C.A., No. 1. ' ’Shops v. St. John’s, No. 2. Eastbrooke v. St. John’s, No. 1. ’Shops v. Y.M.C.A., No. 2. The return fixture with Taranaki will be played on No. 1 ground at Victoria Park on Saturday, July 26, one Saturday before the Chinese match. This season Taranaki have a very strong combination, and on June 3 defeated our representatives by 3 goals to 1. With our representative team strengthened by one or two players, who were unable to make the trip to Hawera, a good game should result, and supporters are asked to keep this date in view. The attendance at training is far from pleasing to the trainer and the committee. As all clubs have been notified, players not attending are spoiling their chances of gaining representative honours this season.

The display given by St. John’s junior team in their match against Y.M.C.A. last Saturday shows that Wanganui has plenty of talent, and with a few more games to their credit this team will prove able opponents for either of the other junior clubs. It was pleasing to the supporters on Saturday to see Lett and Cameron back once again in the St. John's team. For his first game this season Lett gave a splendid exhibition, and helped materially in holding Y.M.C.A. back during the first half. McKie at full-back for St. John’s was deserving of all the applause given him, and was easily the best back on the ground. The Y.M.C.A. forwards were an even lot, with the exception of Killeen, who plaved particularly well all through. Fyfe and Lecky were the mainstays of Y.M.’s defence.
