AMUSEMENTS. MEETINGS. ETC.

HIS MAJESTY’S. “LITTLE JOHNNY JONES.” The final screening of a remarkably good programme takes place at His Majesty’s Theatre to-night. Johnny Hines, the screen comedian, who stars in “Little Johnny Jones,” Warner Brothers’ screen version of the George M. Cohan play, is so full of pep that he hates the sight of chairs. He only permits a minimum of chairs on the sets in his pictures. and sees to it that his supporting cast never sits on them too long. He has managed to put more pep and pace into the situations in this rollicking play than one could imagine possible. The picture is crammed full of laughs; there is not a dull moment right through. Larry Semon in “No Wedding Bells” is on the same programme, and as usual manages to keep the audience in shrieks of laughter. “THE WANTERS’’ AND "WOMAN’S HATB.” The world is full of people who are always wanting something. John M. Stahl in his latest picture “The Wanters,” shows them and an interesting story has been woven about them at that. Marie Prevost is the star and she is well supported by an able cast. "Woman's Hate,” the other picture, is a Metro production starring Alice Lake and Conrad Nagel. The picture is well produced with some very excellent settings. Alice Lake, who has not been seen on the screen for some time, makes a very welcome reappearance, and shows that she has lost none of her artistry.
