AMUSEMENTS, MEETINGS. ETC.
THE GRAND. It Jack Hoxie had done nothing more in “The Red Warning,” the Universal Western play in which he appears at the Grand Theatre, than the ride down the long slope when he carries a flaming torch as a signal to the waiting horsemen in the valley below, his appearance in the picture would still be worth while. That ride is a most spectacular feat of horsemanship. Incidentally, it has been unusually well photographed. The pursuit and ultimate capture of the rustlers is an outgrowth of a brewing indignation on the part of the ranchers at the daring activities of the cattle thieves, and the lack of interest shown by State and county authorities in attempting to check them. The supporting picture, “Broadway Broke," features Percy Marmont (star of “If Winter Comes”), Mary Carr, and Gladys Leslie. Two good gazettes and a comedy complete a programme that Is good from sta.t to finish. “The! Netr" a William Fox production featuring Barbara Castleton, will commence to-morrow. MUNICIPAL PICTURES. Owing to the Opera House being engaged this evening "Woman Proof” will not bo screened until to-morrow evening. It is a coincidence that this picture should have the same author and director as the two previous pictures in which Thomas Moighan appeared. These were "Back Home and Broke" and “Our Loading Citizen.” The comedy] is excellent, and when Tommy, which ! is the name he has in the picture, by the way, does see a girl he would like to marry, she will not have him. How ho finally docs get married in the time that is prescribed in the will of his father makes a wholesome comedy. Box plan at Messrs H. I. Jones and Son’s.
