WANGANUI AGRICULTURAL ASSOCIATION

BIG STOCK DRIVE. Remarkably good donations havf been received by the various gentlemen who have so willingly undertaken to canvass the country districts for contributions to the association’s big stock drive which eventuates at the latter end of this month. Such a result was fully anticipated, as the object is such a deserving one —viz., the liquidation of the liability qpon the Agricultural Association’s show grounds at Wanganui East that all interested would feel it incumbent upon them to assist. The executive who have the matter in hand are leaving no stone unturned to make the project the undoubted success it should be. Contributions have been received from many quarters, but doubtless there are many in the district whom the members of the executive find it impossible to reach. If these gentlemen will only notify the secretary, or any member of the association of their willingness to assist, their generosity will be gladly availed of, and their donations duly notified through the press.

The success of the big stock drive this month will practically ensure the success of the big carnival to be held at show time. Every fanner in -ind around Wanganui should show his practical sympathy in the movement, by contributing to the good cause in the most liberal manner possible. To day would be a good opportunity, and members of the executive will gladly receive donations of stock, produce, or cash to help along the good work.
