STRIKE RIOT
TWO KILLED AND -EVEKAL WOUNDED.
Received June 10, 10.30 p.m. KINGSTON (Jamaica), June 9.
A strike by municipal labourers for an increase in pay developed into a riot, in which corporation property was destroyed. The mob attacked the police. Reinforcements arrived. Finally the police were compelled to fire on the rioters, killing two and wounding several. The military were called out and the rioters dispersed.
