TERRIBLE ALTERNATIVE
FIRE OR BOILING PAINT? NEW YORK, June 9. Six men working at an enamel oven automatic plant at Chicago became trapped. Their only chance of escape was a choice of dashing through a wall of flame or wading through a vat of boiling paint. Four chose the former and died. The others waded through the vat and escaped, though badly burnt.
