WOMAN WHO CLEARED HER CHARACTER
Dismissed from her work in a pipe factory in the presence of a detective, Mrs Beatrice Campbell, of Northampton Buildings, Clerkenwell, brought an action for recovery of a week’s wages against her former employer, L. Orlik, of Barbican, E.C. A solicitor said that the wages had been paid into Court, but a hundred employees knew cf Mrs Campbell’s dismissal, and the action was brought to clear her character. After hearing the woman’s evidence, Judge Parfitt said he did not think there was the slightest ground for an allegation of dishonesty.
