STATE OF MILKING SHEDS
AN INTERESTING REPORT. (Per Press Association.) BLENHEIM, June 6. Figures hitherto not made public were given by Mr J. W. Smith, Gov ernment dairy farm instructor, in the course of a lecture to dairy factory directors at Blenheim to-day regarding the operations of dairy farm instructors during the dairy season just closed. In the 1923-24 season there were 27 whole-time instructors in the Dominion, and they made 22,636 actual inspections of dairy farm premises. They found in a total of 18,115 milking sheds inspected that 6069 could not be passed as good, 9411 could be classed as fair, while 2635 were bad. In these sheds there were 79 39 milking machines, 3528 of which were noted as good. 29 61 as only fair and 1450 as bad.
