CHURCH NOTES

The Salvation Army services to-mor-row will be conducted by Major and Mrs. Wallaec. These will be their farewell gatherings, and a rally of old friends is desired. At the Druids’ Hall, Bell Street, on Sunday evening, the speaker will take as his subject, ‘‘A Living Temple.” It is expected that this will bo a most interesting and helpful lecture, and a good attendance is anticipated. Scats arc free and there is no collection. The Rev. E. T. Cox, M.A., speaks at Trinity Methodist Church at both services to-morrow. The evening subject is ‘‘Where arc the Dead’” Reference will be made to the late Mrs. Annabell. The Rev. W. T. Hooper takes both services at Gonville. On Sunday next, in St. Paul's Church, the services will bo conducted by the Rev. R. Inglis, M.A. In the morning the subject will be ‘‘Living in God,” based upon St. Paul’s address to the Athenians on ‘‘The Unknown God.” In the evening the topic will be ‘‘The Permanence of Christianity,” founded upon the burning bush story in Exodus. At the week-night service on Wednesday next Mr. Inglis will continue his character sketches in the Book of Acts. On Wednesday night the subject will be ‘‘Cornelius the Centurion.”

The president of the Baptist Union, Mr. H. M. Smeeton, of Auckland, will speak at the Ingestre St. Church tomorrow morning. In the evening the special campaign services will be continued, Rev. Stanley Jenkin speaking on ‘‘Search Discipleship.” Redemption song service by the choir from 7 to 7.15. Anthem, ‘‘And the Glory.” Soloist, Mr. E. Hambly.
