MANAWATU A. AND P. ASSSOCIATION.

The annual meeting of Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association was held on Tuesday, the president (Mr K. W. Dalrymple) presiding over an attendance of 40 members. After referring to improvements to the grounds, the president, in moving the adoption of the annual report, said the membership had declined and was 100 fewer that the 1922 figure. He urged members to make strong efforts to increase it. Mr. J. M. Johnston, in seconding the adoption of the report, said the Spring Show had been consistently going back since 1913, and were it not for the Winter Show and donations, their position would be serious. Donations had increased by only £ll6 in 11 years, while expenditure had increased by '£33o in that interval. They were still living, in a measure, on generous donations from outside sources, and he hoped the event of the Royal Show would begin a new era in the history of the association.— The report was adopted. The election of the following officers was confirmed:—President, Mi- J. A. Nash, M.P.; treasurer, Mr J. M. Johnston; committee, Messrs J. Bett, K. W. Dalrymple, M. A. Eliott, H. R. Green, Jas. Knight, G. C. Keeble, J. Linklater, S. Macaulay, A. Sutherland, W. G. Shannon, T. Saunders and H. Voss. Mr. K. W. Dalrymple, the retiring president, was presented with a past president’s badge by Mr Nash. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr J. McKelvie, for the loan of £2oo'o at 6 per cent, on the society’s 1.0. U. Mr. Webb moved that members who have attained the age of 60 years and have been members for the past 10 years should be given the privilege of life membership for £5. —Referred to the committee.
