ADDINGTON MARKET.

The Addington Market yarding today of fat cattle and sheep was one of .'he biggest on record, due no doubt to the burst of winter last week, making holders of forward stock apprehensivt about feed resources. Store sheep and old ewes predominated, and there was a good sale for all quality sheep, particularly wethers. Prices realised are as follows:—Good two-toothed half bred ewes 42s 6d, ordinary 33s 3d to 355; sound mouthed half bred ewes 29s 9d; sound mouthed crossbred ewes 28s sd; sound and failing mouthed halfbreu ewes 25s to 26s Id; aged half bred ewes 14s lid to 21s; aged half bred empty ewes 15s .Id to 16s 9d; aged crossbred ewes in good condition 18s 6d to 22s 3d; lower condition 14s to 17s 6d; good forward four and six-toothed half bred wethers 32s 6d to 34s 2d; four, six and eight-toothed halfbred wethers 30s 8d to 31s 3d; good forward two-toothed half bred wethers 32s 6d; ordinary twotoothed halfbred wethers 25s to 27s lid; forward thrcequartqrbred lambs 22s to 25s 3d; ordinary 18s to 21s; good mixed sexed half bred lambs 24s 3d; thrccquarterbrcd ewes lambs 25s 8d tc 275; halfbred ewe lambs 23s to 28s; small crossbred ewe lambs 22s 8d; small and inferior lambs 14s 6d; to 17s 6d. Fat Lambs.—There was an average yarding of 3130 head. A keen sale resulted, and it was easily the best of the season. Prime lambs made from 10fd to lid per lb; overweights and weights lOd to 104 d. Fdt Sheep.—There was a very heavy yarding of 13 races, the average price received being about ninepencc. It was a good sale with exporters operating freely, and the big yarding was cleared. Extra prime wethers realised 50s, a few special 57s 6d to 625; prime 37s 6d to 42s 6d; medium 33s 6d to 36s 6d; light 30s to 335; prime ewes 31s to 345; medium 27s 6d to 30s 6d; light 23s to 275; old 18s to 225. The fat cattle represented about the biggest yarding on record, comprising 670 head. A lot of light stuff was included, but all good beef sold with freedom. Prime beef made from 31s to 34s per 100 lbs.; medium 27s to 30s 6d; light 24s to 26s 6d; and rough, down to 15s. Special steers made from £lB to £2O; good £l2 to £l5; medium £8; prime heifers £7 to £lO 15s; prime cow& £6 10s to £lO 15s. Vealers.—Some good station lines came forward and sold well. Runners made £5 to £6; good vealers £3 16s to £4; good calves £2 to £3 ss; small calves 5s to 255. Store Cattle—There was a very heavy yarding, mostly of poor class, and a fair sale resulted. Some 3 years’ steers made to £5 10s. Dairy Cows—There was a large yarding, and springers sold well, cows making to £ll and heifers to £lO 10s with inferior down to 30s. Fat Pigs. —There was a good entry. Baconers sold firmly, but porkers were weaker. The average price of bacon per lb., was (id to 6|d; porkers 74d to 84d. Store pigs were slacK of sale, and large stores made 40s; medium 26s to 30s; slips Ils to 14s.
