FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE

RAVAGES IN BRITAIN. LONDON, May 6. In the House of Commons, the Hon. Mr. N. Euxton, Minister of Agriculture, announced that 3060 cases Of foot and mouth disease had been reported since August. There were 39 English counties affected, 11 Scottish, and two Welsh, resulting in the slaughter of 103,138 Cattle, 42,969 sheep, and 47,693 pigs . Compensation payable was estimated at £3,237 000.
