SHOW CARNIVAL

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. THE INITIAL ARRANGEMENTS. A meeting of the Wanganui Show Carnival Committee was held at the Wanganui Agricultural Association’s office yesterday. Mr. G. S. Vance presided. Mr. A. R. Donaldson announced that owing to business reasons he would be unable to spare the time necessary to take up the position of organiser, but he would be pleased to act on the committee, and give every assistance. Messrs. G S. Vance G. C. Glenn, B. C. Smith and A. R. Donaldson were appointed as a committee to confer with the organiser, and present a report at the next meeting with regard to the carrying out of the carnival. The chairman said the proposed stock drive had to be discussed immediately. Mr. J. Franklin led oft by donating two heifers. It was decided that the committee should arrange with the organiser to immediately take steps to inaugurate the stock drive.
