LONDON WOOL SALES

AN UNATTRACTIVE SELECTION. Received May 7, 5.5 p.m. LONDON, May 6. At the wool sales a very miscellaneous and unattractive selection was offered, including numerous speculators’ lots whereon high reserves were placed. Many of these were withdrawn as the sales proceeded, consequently buyers became hesitant and the general tone was not equal to Liverpool; but prices, both for merions and crossbreds, were generally fairly well maintained at the last London closing rates. Slipes and scoureds found a strong market at full late London rates. New Zealand: Longburn, 37d; C.F.M., 354 d; W.F.M., lambs, 36Ad.
