A USEFUL HINT FROM CANADA.

This hint from Canada is worth passing on:—“Old stockings can be used for baby, and make nice soft woollies. (I need not say that the stockings must be of good fine wool or cashmere.) Cut off the worn part of the foot, cut down each leg so far, and seam together to form the body. Insert a square piece cut from top of foot to form the crutch, and run a piece of elastic round the top of the body. Finish off with the feet, by either shaping to baby’s foot and seaming, or making them neat with blanket stitch. These make such cosy things for the little ones, either in pram or creeping on the floor.
