RAETIHI NOTES.

FOOTBALL. (From Our Our Correspondent) The senior match set down foi Saturday between United and Pokaka lid not eventuate, the latter team not being able to secure the required number of men, several not yet having returned home on account of the railway strike. A third grade game was played on the Recreation Ground between Raeti hi and Junction. The latter proved superior in every department, while the local boy s displayed little knowledge of the game. Junction won by 15 points to nil. Mr. J. Pohnson was referee. Raetihi senior team was defeated by Junction by 9 points to nil. Th© Raetihi team was handicapped some what by the fact that two of their best men have not yet recovered from injuries received in the field. At Ohakune there was a good game between Rangat.aua and Ohakune. The latter won by 12 points to 8. THE WEATHER Bitterly cold weather has been experienced here for several days, but m spite of the keen southerly which blew on Saturday and Sunday so far no snow has fallen. The heavy rains of late have had a bad effect on the roads, and the County Council have been hampered in their efforts to carry out urgent road works.
