ESTIMATES FOR THE YEAR. LOCAL BODIES’ CONTRIBUTIONS. The Wanganui Hospital Board’s estimates for the year ending March 31, 1925, show r that the estimated expenditure is £54,188, the biggest item being £37,300 for the maintenance of the Wanganui, Taihape and Raetihi hospitals. In the estimated income the chief items are: Government subsidy £21,480 and patients’ fees, £7500. The contributions required from the. various local bodies (shilling and pence omitted) are as follows: — Waitotara County £2,525 Waimarino County 2,095 Wanganui County 2,916 Rangitikei County • • •. 9,359 Wanganui Borough 6,033 Marton Borough 600 Taihape Borough 527 Ohakune Borough .. .. .. 120 Raetihi Borough 243 Hunterville Town District 83 Mangawcka Town District 47 Bulls Town District .... 55 Rangataua Town District.. 23 Lethbridge Tow r n District 53 The valuation of the hospital district is £26,002,976, with a population of 51,129. The levy made is equal to 15s 8d on every £lOOO capital value.
The local bodies’ contributions are required in six two-monthly payments, and interest will be charged on any instalment after it is fourteen days due.
