PUBLIC NOTICES. WANGANUI LICENSING DISTRICT. NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A PUBLICAN’S LICENSE. I ERNEST OSWALD FISCHER, of , Wanganui, Hotelkeeper, do hereby give notice that I desire to obtain and will at the next Licensing Meeting to be held at Wanganui on the 2nd day of June, 1924, apply for a certificate authorising the issue of a Publican’s License for a house situated at Wanganui, and known by the sign of the Federal Hotel, containing 19 rooms, exclusive of those required for the use of the family. ATTENTION is drawn to the arrangements which can now be made for wiring houses in the Castlecliff area. Owners of property are recommended to get in touch with the Power Board’s Office so that buildings may be inspected and an estimate of cost of installing electricity given by the Board’s House Wiring Inspectors. Financial assistance is immediately available for all intending consumers in Gonvillo and Castlecliff. WANGANUI COUNTY. HEAVY TRAFFIC. NOTICE is hereby given that in accordance with the powers contained in Section 11 of “The Public Works Amendment Act, 1910,” and the Wanganui County Heavy Traffic Bylaws, 1913, the whole of the roads in the Wanganui County with the exception of the No. 1 Line of road; the No. 2 Line to Mangamahu; the No. 3 Line to Okoia; and the Parapara Road to its junction with the z Parihauhau Road have been closed to heavy traffic during the months of May, June, July. August and September, 1924. Heavy Traffic is defined as follows: (a) The transportation of any vehicle, engine, or machine, which itself or together with any thing or things being transported thereon, weighs more than one and-a-half tons avoirdupois to each pair of wheels, (b) The traction of any vehicle or thing by means of bullocks, notwithstanding that such vehicle or thing may separately or together with any load thereon weigh less than one-and-a-half tons avoirdupois.
