WANGANUI HOSPITAL BOARD
DEPUTATION TO MINISTER WELLINGTON, March 26. A Wanganui Hospital Board deputation, introduced by Mr. W. S. Glenn M.P., waited upon the Minister of Health to-day regarding a further £15,000 required in addition to the £30,000 loan obtained from the Public Trustee for the .erection of a nurses’ home at Wanganui and Taihape. ” ..e Minister replied that the board should certainly be able to raise the mo key required by a capital levy and a subsidy spread over two years, and it was not anticipated the work of the board would be all completed within a year. He pointed out that under the new subsidy rates operative from April 1, existing levies would be lightened, and it would be quite possible for the board to incur a capital levy of a substantial amount per year without any increase in th" rate burden. r<~
