STOCK SALE REPORTS

Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report on the sales of the week as below:—

At the Taihape sale on Wednesday, the 19th inst., there was a very fair entry of sheep and a small yarding of cattie. Bidding was inclined to be restricted, but a total clearance was effected at prices as belcw: —Cull lambs, 7s 9d; small lambs, 10s 6d to 12s; fair lambs to 13s lOd; very fair lambs, to 16s Id; cull 2-tooth ewes, 18s 6d; small 2-tooth wethers, 225, m.a. wethers, 21s 9d; medium 2-tooths, 22s 9d to 25s 4d; 2-tooth wethers, 25s 6d; empty ewes, 12s lOd; .yearling steers, 245; yearling heifers, 20s to 255.

At the Mangaweka sale on Thursday, the 20th inst., there was a very fair entry of both sheep tnd cattle, w T hen practically a total clearance* was effected. Quotations: —Mixed w.f. lambs, small, 9s Id, 10s 6d, Ils 2d; medium w.f. lambs, 13s; w.f. wether lambs, 17s 2d; 4 and 5-ycar ewes, 17s; m.a. ewes, 7s, Ils, 13s 2d; 2-tooth wethers, small, 21s; 2-tooth wethers, 24s 2d to 24s 6d; cull 2-tooth wethers, 18s; mixed 2-tooths, 24s 6d; 4-year bullocks, £5 3s; forward bullocks, £7 2s; cows and calves, 37s 6d; empty cows, 20s to 345; 2-year steers, £3 3s; 15-months heifers, 23s to 245; light fat cows, £2 10s. At the Feilding sale on Thursday, the 20th inst., there was a heavy yarding of both sheep and cattle, although the sale was held on an off day. Cattle were dull of sale but sheep sold freely. Quotations: —Small lambs, 9s, 10s 6d to 12s 8d; medium w.f. lambs, 14s 3d; fair w.f. lambs, 17s; m.a. ewes, 12s Bd, 16s 7d to 17s; 4 and 5-year ewes, 20s, 21s, 22s to 22s 4d; 2-tooth ewes, 295; 2tcoth wethers, 26s sd; fat 2-tooths, 265, 26s 9d, 28s, 28s 6d; fat ewes, 20s Bd, 21s, 225, 22s 9d; mixed fat sheep, 26s lOd to 28s 3d; 2-year empty station bred heifers, £2 16s; 3-ycar steers, £4 >s to £5 Ils.
