.WANGANUI’S RUGBY SEASON OPENS ON APRIL 26. METROPOLITAN SUB-UNION MEETS. The first meeting of the new Metropolitan Rugby Sub-Union of Wanganui was held last evening. Present: Messrs F. Haywood (president), G. Thompson, G. Hurst, F. Faber, C. B. Warden, L. Fromont, F. J. Burton, Shearman, A. Takarangi. An apology was received from Mr. A. J. Weekes. The chairman welcomed the new members of the committee, and also the old members. He said there was plenty of work to do, and that the management was not a place for drones. The committee was to conduct local football only, and he trusted that they would , all work together for its good. TESLA BOSE BOWL. The secretary reported that on going through an old minute book he had discovered the conditions pertaining to the Tesla Rose Bowl, and had learned that the trophy now belonged to the feuiierau Club, who had won it outright. Mr. Haywood then said he was Messed to be able to hand the rosevbowl over to Mr. A. Takarangi. who * received the trophy on behalf of the Club. f Ratana Club wrote asking the position of players at Turakina; whether ifhey would be given a percentage of gates”; that matches be played at katana. These and several other matters w ere referred to a sub-commit tee /Messrs Takarangi, Haywood and fcooper) to deal with. An application for reinstatement as > member of the Wanganui Referees' Association was received from T. P. Bout er, and the application was referred to the Referees' Association for a full report. ELECTRIC LIGHT FOR TRAINING. The tender of Dobbs and Cullinane Xor the installing of electric light ss 6d for the Union’s training shed and £l3 15s fid for the Kaierau phed) was accepted. The work is to be gone on with at once. The chairman of the grounds committee (Mr. Hurst) said it was pro■posed to also instal the light round a bortion of the Rec. for night tiaining purposes.

•Kaierau Club forwarded the following resolution passed at its annual meeting: That senior clubs be granted three double complimentary tickets and Junior clubs, with two or more teams, »wo tickets, and all bona fide coaches one ticket each. The committee agreed lo the request. The conditions of the Maoriland Cup Were altered providing that no club can challenge more than once in the came season. SEVEN ASIDE TOURNAMENT. It was decided to hold a sevenBside tournament on Saturday, April 12, for the Bijou Cup, the proceeds to be devoted to the Radium Fund. Entries will close on April 5. The St. John Ambulance Association's appeal was received, and they would receive a grant from Charity Day proceeds later in the season. The Referees' Association applied for a grant of fifteen jerseys for the use of its referees. It was resolved to offer half a dozen monograms to the Association. WORKING COMMITTEES. Ticket Committee.—Messrs Haywood, 3iurst and Cooper. [ OPENING OF SEASON. It was decided to commence cup coinfoot it ions on Saturday, April 26, entries io close on April 12. An application is to be made to the :Borough Council for the use of the ■ Wanganui East Rec. for Rugby • matches. Arrangements are to be made for Beason tickets to be issued by the SubUnion for Cup matches and inter-Sub-Uniou matches, at 12/6 and 7/6 for gentlemen and ladies respectively. It was pointed out that these season tickets would not admit to representative and charity matches, the former being under the aegis of the Council. Players' passes are to be issued as last year, and these vx ill admit to all cup games, also carrying a concession to Sub-Union fixtures. It was stated that over 480 passes were issued last year, and it was resolved to limit the number of tickets to twenty for each team. A sub-committee was appointed to draft rules for the Sub-Union, to report to the committee with a view to bringing them beforei delegates. It was agreed to stick to the old colours, blue and black hoops, for the Sub-Union. The senior competition was fixed to .be decided in three rounds. Charges for club matches were fixed *,t ninepence, and sixpence to stands.
