THE AUSTRALIANS’ TOUR MACARTNEY SUMS UP. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, March 24. Macartney, summing up the Australians’ tour, said the visit had been highly enjoyable. Referring to the standard of cricket in the Dominion, he said New Zealand had' the nucleusof a strong side, and intimated that the chief need was more big wickets —and better wiekets. He commended the enthusiasm of young players, and said it was a most encouraging indication. He particularly mentioned the fact that instruction given by the Australians had been eagerly seized upon.
