'.“ne first screening took place last evening to a full house, and . completely won the popular favour. The scene.-, of th e picture are set in the tropical island. of Cuba, and the drama that' unfolds is one of glorious and heart-thrilling romance. Scenes, suggestive of a Rex Beach novel, with an atmosphere of languorous tropical nights, make a fitting background for intrigue and passion, and a perfect setting for the witchery of woman. Th e story is one that lends itself to many thrilling -episodes and whirlwinds of action.. The supporting programme has been carefully selected and includes travelogue, comedy and gazette. LEO STERLING. Special engagement ha s been made of Mr. Le o Sterling, “The original strolling Serenader” who is an artist of the greatest versatility and charm. Hi s musical numbers on a variety of instruments are remarkably clever and interesting, while as a raconteur he has a fund of droll stories which make his turn deservedly popular.
