Y.M.C.A. LADIES’ AUXILIARY
A FIELD DAY. Saturday last was a field day for the Ladies’ Auxiliary. The Makirikiri Sports Committee some time ago very kindly offered them the catering rights at their sports and, as is always the case, they responded readily, and carried the function through to a successful conclusion. A fine day, ready worker!?, and willing helpers from amongst the Makirikiri people themselves, all combined to make the necessarily heavy day of work, one of pleasure and happiness as well. Luncheon and afternoon tea were well while the fruit salad and soft drink stalls did a brisk business. One heard on every hand that the innovation was welcomed by the patrons of the sports, while the Y.M.C.A. Ladies’- Auxiliary welcomed the opportunity afforded them to raise further funds for the Y.M.C.A. Thanks are due to all ths willing band of workers, and also to Messrs Priest and Farley of Makirikiri.
