REV. EVAN R. HARRIES

The Rev. Evan R. Harries leaves for Auckland to-day. By his departure Wanganui loses a fine Christian gentleman. He is not an old resident of Wanganui, but in the space of three and a-half years he has impressed his personality upon the religious and social life of the town. Quiet and unostentatious, he has proved himself an ideal pastor, while on all questions affecting the moral welfare of the people he has been an absolutely fearless critic. His parish extended far beyond St. Paul's, and bis departure will be regretted by the community at large. Wanganui’s loss is Auckland’s gain.
