RAILWAY RECORD SPEED
LONDON, July 10. The Great Western express, inaugurating an accelerated service, travelled from Swindon to Paddington, 771 miles, in 72 minutes, and attained a speed of 83 miles an hour between Swindon and Didcot—a record for tno British Isles, and probably for the world.
