MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. I.UPROYEMEN TS FOR. THE SHOW. The committee of the Wanganui Agricultural Association met yesterday. The president. Air R. Farley, preshied. NEW MEMBERS. The following new members were elected':—Messrs J. Burrell (Kakatahi), H. A. Card, W. McTubbs, J. Morrison, S. Webb (Brunswick), A. L. Cripps (Rapauiii;, J. J. Hartwell (Tayiort.h), F. G. Hume (Kai Iwi), P. Holmes. STOCK ROUTES. Air J. AIcL. Flair reported that he attended the receni stock route conference, but so far the protest had been futile. Air Hodges said it was a very serious matter i’or farmers having to drive stock long distances. INCREASED ACCOMMODATION. It was decided to thank the Rugby Union for placing their shed at the disposal of the Association The president, said there would be room for 70 head, and would be splendid for the purebred stock. Air Hodges suggested that the sheds should be used lor all the purebreds in milk.. The president said that it would be a matter for the cattle stewards to deal with .Mr Glenn suggested that the exhibitors of purebreds at the Palmerston North and Hawvra Shows should be circulated and notified that covered accommodation could be provided. It was also decided to tar the yards and repair the roof oi the home industries shed. It was also decided to get an estimate of the cost of shifting the wall of the home industries shed with the object of placing the lays, now on the entside, on the inside. Alt G. Glenn suggested that a subcommittee should be set up to meet the finance committee and go into the matter of reinstating the old standard of p r ize money. Mr J. Hodges said the amount charged for entries for stock would also have to be revised. The president, said the position was brighter than Lst year and they could now consider the position. He thought they would have to get more donations ard more members. He realised that exhibitors were often at a loss when they sent stock in. Air D. Ross said it was reduced on the recommendation of the finance < oriimittee. He agreed, however, that they would have to be guided by the fina’fiee committee, which should give the lead. Air Glenn said the prize money was

reduced for two jears, but the time had now come to review it. Mr Ross said arcther committee could not advise the finance committee. Mr Glenn said the idea was to discuss the niattui with the chief stewards of each class. It was decided on Mr Hodges’ motion that the chief stewards of the various classes should meet, the finance committee next Wednesday week at 10.30 am. and go into the matter.
