A THRILL!

DODGE S WONDERFUL PERFORMANCE. A film of extraordinary interest was shown at His Majesty’s Theatre last evening and will be again screened this evening and to-morrow evening. The picture, which is entitled “Endurance” depicts the trip of a Dodge motor car through the big oil fields of the United States. The doings of this car absolutely beggar description. They would be unbelievable had they not been photographed. With a driver and a passenger on board the car, which is a five-seater Sedan road model, ploughs through roads feet deep in mud. sometimes totally obliterated by its own splashings. It rushes down declivities and embankments in a hair-raising manner. Skidding off the road in one place it ryns for quite a distance with the inner wheels sunk deep in a channel of mud, narrowly missing toppling over It rushes over wild, rough, roadless mining country, through scrub, riv-

ers and mudholes, sometimes becoming bogged, but always crawling out I like some huge mud beetle. In ne- I got.iating one bank the car overturns and is only righted by turning it completely over, incidentally demonstrating the extraordinary strength of tha Dodge Sedan body. Where fast progress could be made the car leapt over lumps and ruts, jumping and bucking, frequently being quite clear of the read. It was absolutely astounding to note what the springs of the car would stand. But the engineer was in a hurry to be present at. the birth of a new oil “gusher,” and he pushed on regardless of seas of mud, creeks, rocks, ruts, bush and other obstacles. Gaining the crest of a river bank he turned the car down the steep declivity and rushed over rubble and boulders, the car twisting and jumping into every imaginable angle and position—a wonderful piece of steering. It is a wild, daring drive through almost Impossible conditions, and is thrilling from the start to the arrival at the now oil well. Here the final operation of boring and exploding a new gusher is shown at close quarters. The picture wonderfully demI onstrates the extraordinary strength of the Dodge car, its power to exi tricaie itself from indescribable diffi(culties, the magnificent reliability of j the steering gear and springing ami its fine turn of speed over difficult i country. Alter seeing the picture I “Endurance” one can easily under- | stand the popularity of the Dodge. |lt is a magnificently constructed I vehicle, built for hard work and duri ability and the rapidly-increasing joutput prove beyond doubt that the t superiority of the Dodge in cars of I its class are now appreciated. The i.N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing i Co. Ltd., are the local agents for : Dodge cars and they should benefit I considerably by the interesting and (thrilling film now being featured at ‘ His Majesty's. Apart from other items on an exceptional programme, •the picture “Endurance” is well i worth seeing.
