An Adelaide cable states that Mr. Basil Archer, Tasmanian delegate to the Methodist Conference, aged eighty-three, died’ suddenly as a result of a heart attack. Mr (’. B. Laird teturned thanks on her behalf. During the afternoon f.ongs were rendered by Mrs Ivo Symes; also Miss Esther -J?Lb gave a humorous sketch and some fancy dancing, al) of which items wore highly appreciated. A very pleasant afternoon was brought to a close by singing Auld Lang Syne.
