His Worship the Mayor intends to accord Sir Harry Lauder a civic reception in the Council Chambers on Wednesday 30th inst. at 1 o’clock, to which he invites the citizens of Wanganui. An Adelaide cable states that Mr. Basil Archer, Tasmanian delegate to the Methodist Conference, aged eighty-three, died’ suddenly as a result of a heart attack. A very pleasant afternoon was brought to a close by singing Auld Lang Syne.
