CLEARING SALE NO. 2 LINE. Crane, deceased. The catalogue is a varied one, and includes a number of sheep, several first-class dairy cows, draught horses, implements, and a wide range of outside tools of every description. Household furniture is also included in the catalogue, and together with this will be found every description of household utensils, large quantity of books and ornaments, also a Singer drop-head sewing machine. Attention is drawn to the sale advertisement in our auction columns of Mr Watson’s choice little dairj herd. Quite a number of important sales of pedigree Friesian cattle are to be held in June, but the largest is tha: on behalf of the well-known Taranaki breeder, Mr Henry Johnson, who is disposing of his whole heard ; totalling 120 head. This sale should attract very keen interest from breeders, for Mr Johnson has met with wonderful success in his breeding activities, having been an enthusiastic and successful showring exhibitor, as well as breeding cattle with solid butter-fat producing capabilities. An advertisement relative to this sale will be found in the auction columns of this paper. Of great interest to the gentler sex is a display of lace in a window of Messrs Sperring’s Satisfaction Store. It is identical with the lace used in trimming the dress worn by Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon at her marriage to the Duke of York. Alongside the lace is a page from the Nottingham Guardian, dated March 2, 1923, showing the reproduction of the lace, and a paragraph to the effect that the design is the copyright of the maker. The lace, which is of two widths, is certainly very dainty, and Messrs Sperrings, Ltd. ; H are to be congratulated on their sue i cess in obtaining this line so soon after the Royal event.
