POSITION OF AUSTRALIAN ASSOCIATION. r MELBOURNE, May IS. At the annual meeting of shareholders of the B.A.W.R.A. the chairman said that the Realisation Account surplus at the end of last year stood at £1.224,688, while stocks of wool on hand were valued at £3,718.000, which valuation there was every probability of being real- i ised or exceeded. Securities toiallcd ' £3,253,000, and cash at the bankers ' £7,043,000. The latter was. in | April last, distributed for capital re-i duction payment. Since January, I 1923, the B.A.W.R.A. had disposed | of an additional 276.000 bales, leav-| ing a balance of stocks on hand at I April 13th of 27,000 Merino, whereof 1000 were New Zealand; crossbred 610,000 whereof 235.000 came from New Zealand. Considerable progress was being made in connection with the question of making a final distribution to owners of the 1916-17 clip. The meeting resolved that the capital of the association be reduced from £19,076,000 to £13,744,000 by a repayment of 9/- per share, thus reducing the paid-up capital value of the previous £1 and 10/fhares to 10/- and 1/- respectively.
