FLOCK HOUSE SALE. There was a fair number of buyers at the Flock House sale on Wednesday and Thursday. Mr L. McKelvie's Holstein herd was offered on Wednesday. Bidding was brisk and the average price was £9 3s. On Thursday the station herd was offered. There was a large number of Jersey and Jersey cross cows and the best were sold averaging £l3 to £l6 15s, average for the lot being £9 3s. The cows were In good condition, and about eighty or ninety were sold before the demand slackened. The rest were withdrawn. Following ar® details of prices obtained:—■ First day.—Pedigree cows making 15gns, 25gns, 36gns to 61gns; pedigree bulls 25gns to lOOgns; 53 Holstein and Holstein cross cows £5 to £l6 10s; averaging £9 8s; 40 Jersey and S.H. cross cows £2 to £l4 10s; averaging £9 6s; Holstein weaner heifers £3 4s to £6 10s; two-year heifers £6 10s to £l3 13s, averaging £ll 16s. Second day.—One hundred Jersey and S.H. cross cows, £5 to £l7, averaging £8 7s 6d; 16 Jersey cross heifers, £6 to £8 TOs, averaging £7 ss; two-year heifers £5 5s to £6 10s; cows in milk £6 to £9 15s; 3 h.p.
