Boston University is going to turn our head waiters and “bell hops” in a six week’s course by the vocational department of the College of Business. To relieve the housing shortage in Paris it is proposed to build a large fleet of house boats and moor them along the Seine. The Begum of Bhopal is the only woman ruler in Asia. An entirely new system of dealing with passengers’ luggage (called check baggage system) is being introduced by the London and Southwestern Railway Company, who claim that it will relieve passengers of all difficulty jn conveyance and delivery. There are no formalities, or consignment notes to deal with. On the simple-payment of one shilling per package passengers can hand their luggage to the staff at any station, and it will be conveyed by rail and delivered to home or hotel, or on payment of a similar sum such baggage will bo collected from the home address and deposited in the cloakroom of the station to which the passenger is travelling. There are other varieties of the new system to meet individual needs. The arrangement also applies to cycles, mail carts, golf clubs, cricket bags, and commercial travellers’ luggage.
