Inspector Kemp was awakened, by a noise in his room. Switching on the light he found a man standing by his bed. The intruder threw a scent bottle at Inspector Kemp. <»nd narrowly missed Airs. Kemp. *lh€ man bolted and inspector Kemp ga** chase in his pyjamas over a distance of a Quarter mile. He caught ins man, who later was taken 10 tlio police station. This morning tho j Magistrate remanded till next Wed- [ nesday a man named David Davie.', aged 21, on a charge of breakin.,.
entering, aud stealing articles valu d at £6 from Inspector Kemp’s dwelling. Inspector Kemp and a friend had been to the races and there a large sum of money in the house.
