The Local Association met in the looms of tne Y.M.C.A., last Friday evening at 7 p.m. Commissioner, the Rev. David Campbell occupied the chair, aud apologies were received and sustained on behalf of Scoutmasters Caiman and Campbell. Correspondence was received and considered from Dominion Headquarters, Brigadier General ' Andrew, Sir Jas. Wilson, S. Bent and Co., (Christchurch), the Swankers’ Club, the Amateur Athletic Association, the Wanganui Rille Association, ana Scout Master Caiman, Westmere. Very kindly appreciation was expressed .regarding the efforts ot the Swankers to raise funds on behali of the Scouts, and it was agreed to render every assistance to tne effort now being organised for Wednesday evening, April sth. To further encourage the development ot proficiency work among the various Scout Troops it was agreed that in future Ihe cost of all Kuri medals be uorne by the Local Association, ana it was intimated that Brigadier General Andrew, and Air L. Al. Isitt would shortly visit The town, not only in the interests of the movement nere, but also throughout the varied „arts of the Dominion.

LETTER OF THANKS. Dear Sir— On behalf of the Wanganui Amateur Athletic Association allow me to tender their sincere thanks to ourself and boys who so ably assisted us at our recent sports meeting. many appreciable remarks have oeen made as to the general conduct and management or tne sports. Your noys by tneir promptness and untiring energy in carrying out so el—ucieuily tne important duties allocated to them helped iu no small measure, to attain our object, to make the meeting, attractive from a spectators’ point ot view. The ladies oi che church are grateful to the boys for so kindly undertaking to distribute 450 leaflets and desire to accora the Scouts hearty thanks. This Troop intends holding a “sports" afternoon at an early date, and rumour hath it that some records are likely to be broken. OHAKUNE. There are over 20 boys in training here, and with Scout Master, the Rev. G. W. Fenwick, in charge, good work is being done. It is intended to uniform the boys at an early date, aud with the appointment of an assistant to the Scout Master, more should be heard of this troop In the near future.
