WORK FOR SOLDIERS.
GOVERNMENT’S ATTITUDE. (Per Press Association.! WELLINGTON, March 29. A deputation from the Returned Soldiers’ Association pressed claims of partially disabled men upon the Hons. Anderson and Coates, Ministers of labour and Defence. The Ministers pointed out that they could hardly be expected to discharge men to make room Jor soldiers, especially those who had had jobs and left them, nor could they admit it was the duty of the Gocvernnieent to employ all disabled men. Private employers must help. They agreed that the Government should do what it could, but a reply could not be given at once. The Hon. Anderson said the Government was doing all it could for returned soldiers. Ho mentioned that a conference was hold this week between th< Ministers and officers to meet unemployment. Proposals will be laid before Cabinet. In these the soldiers will share.
