SKILL AND FUN FOR OLD AND YOUNG. “Put and Take” is the name of a sparkling new skill contest in which, very shortly, old and young in town and country will be taking a live'y interest. Money Is urgently needed for necessary improvements to the grounds of the Durie Hill School, and the Committee has de cided to substitute this novel skill contest for the stereotyped methods of “riling the wind.” “Put and Take” is a fascinating coptest, which has set the wits of hundreds of thousands to work in the Mother Country. April 3rd has been fixed as the starting day, and on that day full details of the competition will be advertised in the “HeraJd” and “Chronicle.” The successful competitors are to be liberally rewarded for their efforts, as there is to be a substantial first prize of £2O and ton consolation awards of 10/ each for the ten next best efforts.
