FIRE AT WAIHI.
(Per Press Association.) , - WAIHI, March 2a. A fire occurred in the underground working of the Waihi mine at No 7 level at eight o'clock last night, fhe company s up-to-date underground lire fighting equipment Was immediately brought into use. The ore producin'’ points in the mine are not affected as the area of the fire was confined to old workings, but a certain number of men are out oi work pending subjugation of the outbreak and clearance of smoko from tlie fire area.
