HAWKE CUP CHALLENGE.
WANGANUI TEAM FOR NELSON. The final selection for the team to represent Wanganui, in their match against Nelson, has now been completed and is as follows:—E. H. Bernau (College B), C. Holland (Imlay), R. Johnston (Victoria), R. P. London (Old Boys), R. W. Orton (Victoria), R. Spurdie (Old Boys), V. A. Stapleton (Wanganui), C. Treadwell (Old Boys), A. Tronson (Old Boys). H. Walters (Wanganui) and L. A. Wood (Victoria). Twelfth man: S. London (Old Boys). Umpire, Mr N. Pauling; Manager, Mr J. H. Haynow. The teams will leave Wanganui %v the 4.10 p.m. train on Tuesday next. They will stay the night at Palmerston North and proceed by he 7.10 a.m. train on Wednesday for Wellington, where they wil? catch the Nikau for Nelson, arriving at 4 a.m. on Thursday. They will have a rest on Thursday and start the match on Friday at 10 a.m. The team Is a good one and should give a great account of themselves and bring this much coveted Cup back to Wanganui. It Is a great pity, however, that H. B. Cave, K. Cave, D. Murchie, S. Smith, F. Lomas, C. Stewart, and R. Johnston (Imlay) were not available. Nevertheless the selected eleven will be found to be strong both in batting and bowling, It should be fairly good in the field. THE LOCAL CUP GAMES. The following are the matches for next Saturday:— SENIOR CUP. Victoria v. College B, Cook’s Gardens No. 1. 1 Wanganui v. Imlay, Cook’s Gar'dens, No. 2. College A v. Old Boys, College Ground. JUNIOR. St. Paul’s v. College B, Victoria Park, No. 1. Technical College v. Marists, Victoria Park, No. 2. Wanganui v. College A, College Ground. Y.M.C.A., a bye.
