;. MEETING OF CLUB DELEGATES. VARIOUS RECOMMENDATIONS f MADE. n A meeting of delegates from all the clubs within the Wanganui Racing Dis--0 trict was held at Marton yesterday. The first marr ter to be discussed was the issue of ’ complimentary tickets by the clubs, and 1 he invited the fullest discussion. f Mr AV. Duncan moved that the issue 1 of complimentary tickets be restricted t to the Governor-General and staff, Min- - isters of the Crown, members of Parlia--3 ment, stewards of district clubs, secrej taries of district clubs, postal and rail- = way officials in towns where races arc 3 being held, president and secretary New f Zealand Racing Conference, members 3 of district committees who are not stewards of other clubs, members of Racing 3 Conference on application, stewards and j officials of other clubs on application, a newspaper representatives, prominent I racing men (to be issued at discretion of clubs) ; the above recommendations not to apply to hunt clubs. ’ The following amendment was mov- ' ed: That the attention of the various s clubs be drawn to the extravagant issue ’ of complimentary tickets, and that the clubs be asked to set up strong sub- - committees to reduce the issue to a - minimum. ; The amendment was defeated. It was next moved as an amendment - that the issue of complimentary tickets, i with the exception of ladies’ compliL mentaiy tickets, be abolished. . The amendment was lost on the , voices , Mr Duncan’s original motion, with I the addition of the words “ that all [ complimentary tickets bear a charge of . 25,” was then carried unanimously. It was next resolved, on Mr Beckett’s motion, that tickets to district stewaids should be issued by the district committee in the form of an annual ticket. Fractions was the next subject discussed, and the chairman moved that it be a recommendation to clubs to payout to the nearest 3d. The motion met with a good deal of opposition on the ground of the extra work that would be involved. The motion was defeated on the voices. Mr AV. Duncan moved that it be a recommendation to the various clubs that the closing time for nominations and entries be not later than 9 p.m. The motion was defeated. On the motion of Mr McKenzie, it s was decided to recommend that in 1 hurdle races and steeplechases an of- c 'ficial should be stationed at every jump. ] It was decided on Mr Johnston’s mo- 1 tion that it be a recommendation to i clubs that a uniform £1 nomination fee i be charged and £1 per centum accept- i ance fee on the total stakes paid. i Other matters of interest to the clubs t were discussed by the conference, and 1 nt the conclusion the delegates were en- c tertained at lunch by the Marton j Jockey Club at the AATiite Hart Hotel. ,
