AMATEUR ATHLETICS.

(Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 4. Advice has been received by the president of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association that R. Coombs, president of the Amateur Athletic Union of Australia and New Zealand, would arrive in Wellington on Tuesday from Hamilton, where he is attending the Waterloo Cup coursing championships. The object of Mr. Coombes’ visit to Wellington is to meet officials of athletic bodies. During his brief stay here matters in connection with the Australasian touu of the South African athletes and Australian championships wilt be discussed.
