AMUSEMENTS, MEETINGS, ETC.

PARAMOUNT PICTURES. “THE MARKET OF SdULS.” At the Opera House to-night (Tuesday) and to-morrow*, night the next star feature will be screened by P?ramounts. The title of this is "The Market lor Souls,” featuring that very capable actress, Dorothy Dalton. The luxury of the setting, tue human interest of the story, the wonder of the acting, the artistic direction, the splendour of the gowns and the various scenes make ‘‘The Market of Souls” one of the finest photoplays ever produced by Thomas H. Ince. The master production of the New Year’s Eve celebration is alone enough to make the picture worth seeing. The story, too, is unusual, absorbing, and highly dramatic, yhiie the acting of Dorothy Dalton in the part of Helen Armes, a trained nurse, supported by an especially capable cast, has never been surpassed in her screen career. The story is quite a good one, and the mere fact that the picture is classed as one of the finest Ince has ever produced, immediately places it m the highest plane. “The Market of Souls” can only be screened at the Opera House lor two nights—this evening and and finally on Wednesday, and this thrilling film should attract record business. In addition to the star attraction an excellent series of incidental pictures will be run through, the quality of all of them being up to the standard of Paramounts, which should satisfy the most fastidious. The box plan is at H. I. Jones and Son’s. On Thursday and Friday nights next, “Scarlet Days,” a story of the early and exciting days of ’49, will be the number one attraction.
