TROUBLE IN ARABIA.

DELHI, Nov. 3. Affairs in Arabia have lately been attracting attention, primarily owing to the spread of the Akhwan movement, a Bedouin society for the promotion of religion in the extreme Wahabee sense. They recently came into conflict with the neighbouring principalities of Hail and Koweit. The trouble arose firstly regarding the possession of certain wells. Subsequently, on the J Oth October, an Al 'iwan force attacked the Sheikh Koweit. There were many casualties on both sides. The Akhwan party sent a deputation offering peace, apparently on . condition that the Sheikh and inhabitants of Koweit accepted Akhwan tenets forthwith. The Sheikh returned an evasive answer, and meanwhile invoked British assistance. The military authorities in Aleso- — potamia sent two aeroplanes to Koweit and warned the Akhwan that if they attacked the town they would be obliged to intervene. The H.M.S. Espiegle and Lawrence have been stationed at Koweit.
