THE P. AND O. Received Nov. 4, 5.5 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 3. P. and O. shares—Buyers £480; sellers £5lO. The P. and 0. declared a dividend on deferred stock of 6 per cent, with a cash bonus of 3 per cent., also stock distribution of £205,000, a further six per cent., making the total distribution for the year 21 per cent. LONDON TALLOW SALES. Received Nov. 4, 5.5 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 4. At the tallow sales, 2088 casks were offered and 867 sold. Fair mixed declined one shiling and low quality two shillings. AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Received Nov. 4, 10.10 p.m. SYDNEY, Nov. 4. Oats: Algerian feeding, 3/- and 3/3; railing 3/6 and 3/9; white 4/and 4/3. Maize 7/3 and 7/9. Potatoes, new local £7 and £8; Tasmanian (old) £9 and £lO. Onions, Victorian £l4. ADELAIDE, Nov. ?4. Oats, normal. No quotes yet for new season’s. SYDNEY WOOL SALES. KEEN COMPETITION. Received Nov. 4, 10.10 p.m. ADELAIDE, Nov. 4. The third series of the wool sales closed. There was very keen competition by British, Continental and American buyers, particularly American. Record prices of 40J, 40J and 394 were paid for small lots. Tender thin merinos were w’eaker. Inferiors were without life, while crossbreds and scoured were excluded owing to no present' demand for these classes.
