TRAMWAY SERVICE.
To the Editor. Sir,—l would esteem it a great 1 favour if you would allow me- kthrough the columns of your valuable paper, to thank all those who braved the elements lac* night to attend the advertised meeting at the Druids’ Hall, called for the purpose of discussing the unsatisfactcry tramway •service. The meeting was postponed until 8 p.m. next Monday at the same place, as it was considered unwise to go into the full facts and figures at a sparsely-attcnd'd meeting. The tramway service is essentially a public utility, and I would respectfully ask the public to consider their own interests and to persuade their friends to roll up in force next Monday and give the meeting the momentum that la nocessary to make the Mayor and Councillors realise that they are on their trial. The public own the service, and it is for the public to say what action should be taken to ensure for the future that modicum of public convenience they are so heavily laying for.—l am, etc., R. DAVIS.
