BRITAIN’S OVERSEAS SETTLEMENT SCHEME.

AUSTRALIA WANT’S EXTENSION. Received July 30, 9.20 p.m. LONDON. July 28. The Agents-General waited on the Hon. Amery urging a year’s extension of the overseas settlement scheme, pointing out that owing to the scarify of shipping to Australia few exservice men had immigrated, whereas a large number had gone to Canada. The brighter shipping outlook for Australia will „ provide opporrunities for further settlement. Colonel Amery will consider the matter.
