FOR THE BENEFIT OF EX-AUS-TRALIAN SOLDIERS.

■ ■ (To the Editor). Sir, —I have been advised by the chairman of the Australian Imperial Force Canteen Funds’ Trust that it is jrroposed to provide out "of their funds, assistance and benefits to widows, orphans, widowed mothers and other immediate dependents of deceased soldiers, and to seriously disabled soldiers, of the Australian Imperial Force. The funds consist of surplus monies resulting from the A.I.F. Canteens trading during the war, and amount to about £500,000. The benefits will be extended only to claimants in the above classes who are in real need of assistance. I shall be much obliged if you will kindly give the matter publicity through your columns. Any person desiring to make a claim on the funds should communicate with the District Repatriation Officer at Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, or Dunedin, to whom I have issued full instructions. Thanking you in an- .. ticipation, I am. Sir, Yours faithfully, J. R. SAMSON, Director of Repatriation.
