LONDON POLICE.
A PLEA FOR REINSTATEMENT. deceived January 30, 11.50 p.m. LONDON, January 29. Thirteen Labour Mayors of London Boroughs deputationised Mr Shortt and urged the reinstatement of the police dismissed for participating in the recent strike. Mr Shortt reiterated the Government’s refusal. Several Mayors declared their Councils would refuse to pay the police rate.
