The Kia Ora i.s reported to have passed Dover on January 27th, from Wanganui.
The P. and O. steamer Bremen (N Z Shipping Co.) arrived at Wellington on Wednesday from Plymouth. The following movements of U.S. and A. Line steamers (Messrs Dalgety and Co., agents), are reported:— The Marne left New York on January 14th for Auckland. Wellington, Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. The Nokatay is to leave New York shortly for Dunedin, Lyttelton, Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. The Lorain is to load at New York for New Zealand, Brisbane, Newcastle, and Sydney. The Cathlamet will load at New York for Lyttelton, Dunedin, Hobart, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Fremantle. Of the above-named vessels only one, viz.. Lorain, has previously visited Australasia. The Marne, Nokatay, and Cathlamet all are brand new vessels, built only last year, and are over 6000 tons gross register with a carrying capacity of about 9000 tons of cargo each. The Suffolk arrived at Wellington from Auckland on Wednesday evening. The U.S. and A. steamer Iceland was expected to arrive at Wellington yesterday morning from New York. The N.Z.S. Co.’s Ruapehu was due yesterday morning at Auckland from Bristol. The John is reported to have arrived at Dunedin from Wanganui yesterday at 9.45 a.m. The U.S. and A. steamer Liberty is expected to arrive at Auckland to-day ( from New York.
